Osbecks bokskogar beech forest in Hässlöv Hallandsåsen

Osbecks bokskogar - Osbeck's Beech Forest

Driving down from Gothenburg towards Malmö searching for a place to tent for the night we found this amazing forest near Hässlöv. It is allowed to tent in Sweden anywere as long as you are not in sight, too close to someones house. Osbecks bokskogar is just that perfect spot.

I think beech forests have a very cinematic and medieval feeling to them and this one even more so due to the old ruins, walls and foundations of houses that can be found inside of the forest.

The forest is labeled a Nature reserve and thanks to the Swedish "Right of public access" law you are allow to camp in the reserve for a couple of nights as long as you follow some simple rules and common sense. Basically: Do not disturb, do not destroy!

Please read more about the Right of access law here.
